2011 EMPLOYMENT TRAINING INSTITUTES Employment Training Institutes continue to be our signature events each year. Designed for front-line job developers and employment specialists, the training combines new research and skill-building so that staff come away as more effective refugee employment professionals.
Registration Now Open! Peer to Peer Exchange Employment Training Institute
The Peer to Peer Exchange is targeted toward both those that are new to the employment services field and veterans. The topics will focus on the core skills and knowledge that refugee employment professionals need to help refugees secure a first job and begin their path toward self-sufficiency. Examples include: Marketing Employment Services, Building Partnerships, Pre-Employment Orientations, Assessment, and Engaging Volunteers. The agenda will be crafted by the participants themselves ahead of the training to ensure that the training meets the needs of those who will be attending. Lastly, representatives from the Center for Applied Linguistics will provide a special presentation on overseas Cultural Orientation and field staff from several resettlement agencies will join the training via Skype to highlight specific promising practices.
